An IFO file is a container file used on DVD-Video discs. IFO files help users manage and organize their files accurately and quickly, as well as share data between users.

An IFO file stores information about the structure of the DVD, including the locations of menus, titles, and audio and video streams. Generally, IFO files are used alongside BUP files and VOB files. IFO files are located in the VIDEO_TS directory of a DVD. An IFO file consists of four sections; each section contains different information: about the disc video streams, navigation, and chapter structure, and finally, about subtitle streams. An IFO file can be opened with a media player that supports the appropriate format.
