However, PTF files do not store audio data itself.

The PTS file format is similar to PTF files but does not contain embedded timecode data and is not compatible with different versions of Pro Tools. The PTF file type can be run on many types of computer systems. Though, they are not retro-compatible with Pro Tools' older versions.

PTF files are not meant to be opened manually; they can be opened using the native app only.
